Muhsin Ertugral confirms Mosa Lebusa is joining Sundowns from Ajax Cape Town

Lebusa is expected to complete his move to the Brazilians in the near future now that Ajax, through Ertugral, have confirmed the deal

Ajax Cape Town coach Muhsin Ertugral has confirmed that Mosa Lebusa is on his way to Mamelodi Sundowns

Lebusa was one of the loyal servants at the Ikamva-based outfit since graduating from the club's youth structures many years ago.

With the team preparing for life in the National First Division (NFD) following their relegation from the PSL, Ertugral revealed that their skipper will be moving to Chloorkop to further his football career.

"Lebusa has done well for us. He is leaving the club. He is joining Sundowns, and I think he will do well there," Ertugral told Independent Media

Lebusa was at one stage very close to joining Kaizer Chiefs, but the proposed deal fell through after the Brazilians tabled a better offer to that of their rivals.

Goal reported last week that Sundowns were in pole position to land the Welkom-born player after Chiefs withdrew from the race to sign the versatile defender.

While they still have Philani Zulu, Siphosihle Ntiya-Ntiya and Letlhogonolo Mirwa, Chiefs are still in the market for a reliable left-back as this was confirmed by Patrick Mabedi two weeks ago.

However, they will now have to look elsewhere with Lebusa no longer available for them.

Lebusa on the other hand, goes to Sundowns knowing very well that he will have to work his socks off to earn a regular place in Pitso Mosimane's starting line-up.

The 25-year-old will battle with the likes of Tebogo Langerman, Siyabonga Zulu and Lyle Lakay for a spot on the left hand side of the Sundowns defence.

Should Mosimane opt to play him in central defence, then Lebusa will have to compete with Brazilian player Ricardo Nascimento, who has been the only experienced left-footed centre-back at the club.
