After starting the season without a win in their first three games, Melaka United FC seem to have turned their fortune around after they recorded another win following their win against Sarawak last week.

Melaka United travelled to Kota Bharu to face Kelantan and won the game 2-0 courtesy of second half goals from Ilija Spasojevic and Fauzi Roslan.

Last night’s game had initially been scheduled to take place in the first matchday of the season last month, but due to poor bad weather at that time, it was rescheduled to last night.

It was the visitors who were impressive last night, despite the early domination showed by the home team during the early stages of the game.

After no goal was scored in the first half, last season's Premier League top scorer, Spasojevic finally got his first goal in the Super League this year after receiving a through pass from Jeon Woo Young five minutes after the second half resumed.

Melaka United then added their second goal of the night to kill the game, after substitute Fauzi Roslan scored in injury time.

With this win, Melaka United have now climbed to seventh from ninth, having recorded two wins, two defeats and one draw in the first five games.

For the Red Warriors who started the season strongly with two straight wins, they now have suffered back to back defeats in the league, at the hands of Melaka United and Kedah.

They are currently eighth in the table, but with one game in hand after their game against JDT was postponed due to the Southern Tigers' involvement in AFC Champions League playoff
