The 24-year-old player surprisingly left Amakhosi for Bloemfontein Celtic on a 12-month loan deal midway through the 2017/18 season and he helped Phunya Sele Sele survive relegation.
Gordinho made 16 appearances in all competitions for Phunya Sele Sele and he hit the back of the net against Chiefs' arch-rivals Orlando Pirates at the Orlando Stadium last April.
The former Pirates academy player was loaned out to Celtic by the then Chiefs coach Steve Komphela, who resigned as head coach of Chiefs towards the end of the season.
Komphela has since returned to the Free State provinve as the new Celtic coach.
Gordinho was expected to return to Amakhosi in January 2019, but his agent, Mike Makaab of Prosport International has since revealed that his client's stay in the City of Roses will be cut short.
“We signed a 12-month loan contract with Celtic from Chiefs,” Makaab told Isolezwe.
“We agreed to 12 months because Celtic wouldn’t agree to six months. He was happy with the move because he didn’t get game time under Steve Komphela," he continued.
“I can confirm that Chiefs want him back at the club," the Prosport International chief executive officer said.
Phunya Sele Sele have agreed to release Gordinho, who will be looking to revive his Chiefs career next season.
“We agreed with Celtic, and they said they wouldn’t stand in his way if he wanted to go back to Chiefs," he concluded.
Gordinho enjoyed regular game time under Komphela between 2015 and 2017, but things fell apart the arrival of Zimbabwean central defender Teenage Hadebe at the beginning of last season.
