Aston Villa goalkeeper Jed Steer has signed a new contract at the club until the end of next season, according to the Express and Star.

The new deal caps a remarkable turnaround in fortunes for the 26-year-old, who spent the first half of the season on loan at League One Charlton.

However, he has been a regular under Dean Smith since returning to the club in January, starting their last five Championship games and keeping three clean sheets.

Edu announces retirement


Former Toronto, Rangers and Stoke midfielder Maurice Edu has announced his retirement from football at the age of 32.

Edu also had spells with Bursaspor, Philadelphia Union and Bethlehem Steel during his career as well as earning 46 caps for the U.S. national team.

Casillas would love La Liga return


Real Madrid legend Iker Casillas says he "would love" to play in La Liga again.

The goalkeeper rose through the Madrid youth system to spend a successful 16 years with the capital club, winning five La Liga and four Champions League titles before leaving for Porto in 2015.

Nmecha switches allegiance to Germany


Manchester City striker Lukas Nmecha has switched his international allegiance from England to Germany, report the Lancashire Evening Post.

The 20-year-old, who is currently on loan at Preston, has been called up to the Germany Under-21 squad for upcoming games against France and England.

Nmecha represented England from Under-16 through to Under-21 level but has now declared for Germany, the country of his birth and where he lived until the age of nine.

Al-Arabi to sign Gunnarsson


Qatari side Al-Arabi Sports Club have announced they are to sign Cardiff midfielder Aron Gunnarsson at the end of the season.

Reports claim the Iceland international has signed a two-year contract with the option of a third year.

Sarri future to be decided by Granovskaia


Maurizio Sarri's future as Chelsea boss will be decided by Marina Granovskaia, a trusted adviser of owner Roman Abramovich, report The Sun.

Sarri's position has again been thrown into doubt following Sunday's 2-0 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park, a fourth defeat in five Premier League away games.

If Chelsea do decide to sack the Italian then it will be a decision taken by Granovskaia rather than Abramovich, who has not been seen at Chelsea since April last year.

Wes Morgan is excited for the future under Brendan Rodgers after signing a one-year contract extension with Leicester City.

The 35-year-old defender, who moved to the Foxes from Nottingham Forest in 2012, has agreed terms on a deal that will run until 2020.

Gareth Bale could be on the way to joining Bayern Munich this summer, Teamtalk reports.

The Wales international keeps being linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu, with Madrid reportedly ready to part ways with him at the end of the season.

Manchester United and Tottenham are the reported favourites, but it seems Bayern are ready to enter the picture after asking about Bale when meeting with the Madrid hierarchy to discuss the future of James Rodriguez.

Leicester captain Morgan signs new deal


Wes Morgan has signed a one-year contract extension with Leicester, it has been confirmed.

The Foxes captain's deal was set to expire at the end of the season but he is now tied to the club until 2020.

Morgan, 35, has made 700 appearances for Leicester and is delighted to continue his stay at the King Power Stadium.

"It means a lot to me. We’ve been through so many ups and downs together as a football club," he told the club's website. "I’ve been right at the heart of it from the very beginning, so to extend my time here means very much to me and I’m very happy."

Arsenal line up Gelson Martins bid


Arsenal are considering a move for Portuguese winger Gelson Martins, A Bola claims.

The 23-year-old left Sporting CP last summer after asking to cancel his contract before signing for Atletico Madrid, though that transfer is subject to an investigation from FIFA.

Arsenal were interested in signing him in January but he was loaned to Monaco instead and has already scored three times in seven Ligue 1 appearances. 

The Gunners' interest has not gone away, however, and they could return in the summer with another bid for him.

PSG considering Griezmann move


Paris Saint-Germain will make a move for Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann if they sell either Neymar or Kylian Mbappe this summer, report AS.

The French champions are one of only a handful of clubs who could afford to pay Griezmann's €200million (£171m/$227m) release clause.

They are now ready to make a move for France international should offers come in for Neymar or Mbappe - the latter of whom has been heavily linked with Real Madrid.

Man Utd to send Pereira out on loan


Manchester United are willing to send Andreas Pereira out on loan next season - as long as he signs a new four-year contract at the club, according to The Sun.

The Spanish giants are considering bringing in aditional cover for their first-choice centre-back pairing of Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane, and there is a suggestion Nacho could make way for the new arrival.

The Argentine has only netted once since he scored twice against Huddersfield.
