Ajax star De Jong tired of Barca transfer speculation

Frenkie de Jong insists he is no clearer on reported interest from Barcelona as rumours of a switch from Ajax continue to swirl. 

While his strong season in the Eredivisie has seen him linked to the La Liga champions, Ajax have insisted he is not for sale.

De Jong remains none the wiser over the possibility of a move, and admits to growing frustrated with the constant rumours.

Mainz confirm Newcastle move for Muto

Mainz have confirmed the sale of Japan international Yoshinori Muto to Newcastle United, in a deal reportedly worth £9.5 million ($12.4m).

"News on Yoshinori Muto. The Japanese is about to change Mainz for Newcastle," the club announced on Twitter. 

“The clubs are, as far as the terms of the contract, largely agreed, however, are around the change still time-consuming formalities to be done."

AC Milan defender Leonardo Bonucci is ready to return to Juventus after just one season at the San Siro, according to new club general manager Leonardo. 

Bonucci, 31, caused a stir in the summer of 2017 when he swapped Turin for Milan after seven trophy-laden seasons with the Old Lady.

The Red Devils are reigniting an old pursuit after being dealt a blow in the hunt for Harry Maguire

Manchester United could be forced to reignite their interest in Toby Alderweireld after being told that Leicester City will demand a sum in excess of £75 million ($99m) if they are to consider parting with Harry Maguire.

Goal understands United were initially keen on signing Tottenham centre-back Alderweireld but had their approach curbed by Spurs’ £75m price tag for the 29-year-old Belgian, leaving the two clubs around £20m apart in their valuations.

Mourinho set to miss out on Sandro

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been left frustrated as he looks set to miss out on Juventus defender Alex Sandro.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Mourinho was keen to bring full-back Sandro to Old Trafford this summer.

But the United hierarchy have blocked the deal as they do not want Mourinho to continue to stockpile defenders and spend money elsewhere.

Inter are close to completing a move for Atletico Madrid defender Sime Vrsaljko, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Croatia international has agreed personal terms with the Serie A outfit, and will move on an initial €8 million (£7.1m/$8.3m).

Though there will be no obligation to buy, should the Nerrazzuri wish to make the move permanent the overall fee would rise to €25m (£22.2m/$29.2m).

Klaassen set for Werder Bremen talks

Everton midfielder Davy Klaassen is set for talks over a move to Werder Bremen, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The Blues are ready to sell the striker after just one season in London, but he will not be cheap for the Rossoneri

Chelsea are demanding AC Milan pay £62 million ($82m) to buy Alvaro Morata this summer, Sky Sports reports.

It has been reported this week that the striker has agreed to a return to Italy after talks with the Rossoneri after they were taken over by new owners Elliott Management.

With Chelsea said to be making advances to sign Gonzalo Higuain from Juventus, they have already settled on a price for Morata after just one season in London.

Vida agrees to join Liverpool

Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida has agreed a deal to join Liverpool, according to A Spor.

The Croatia international impressed at the World Cup and has agreed terms on a two-year deal with the Anfield outfit.

United Chairman Ed Woodward is working on deals for the pair, but Leicester will demand £60 million ($79m) for Maguire, which would be a record for an English defender, as he still has four years remaining on his contract.

Alderweireld, meanwhile, has been embroiled in a pay dispute with Tottenham and would only cost the Red Devils £50m.
