FT: Real Madrid 1-2 Sheriff

Real Madrid 1-2 Sheriff

Sheriff are four minutes away from claiming victory at the Bernabeu in the Champions League.

Four. Minutes.

GOAL!!!! Real Madrid 1-2 Sheriff

THEY'VE DONE IT! Sheriff take the lead again against Real Madrid in the dying minutes of regular time courtesy of Thill. It's a rocket, too, and a supremely clean strike to leave Benzema and all shocked once again, and Courtois with absolutely no chance whatsoever!

WOW! Long live the Champions League. The joy on Sheriff's faces!

Make room for the new king of Paris 🤴

GOAL!!! AC Milan 1-1 Atletico Madrid

HERE WE GO! What a strike by Antoine Griezmann in the final 10 minutes to put Atletico Madrid level with AC Milan! It's the Frenchman's first goal since returning to Atletico from Barcelona this summer.

GOAL!!!! Porto 1-5 Liverpool

Shall we even bother with updating this game anymore? It's Roberto Firmino again who nets for the Reds, putting them five – yes, five – goals up against Porto! Woosh! Referee, blow the whistle!

Meanwhile, in the Porto vs Liverpool game...

... Liverpool have just scored their fourth through Roberto Firmino! It's 4-1 to the Reds!

GOAL!!! PSG 2-0 Man City

IT'S MESSI!!!! With his first-ever Champions League goal for PSG – against none other than a side managed by Pep Guardiola!

Lionel Messi is officially Parisien now! Take a bow! What a beautiful goal.

GOAL! Porto 1-3 Liverpool

A consolation, maybe? Taremi the goalscorer.

OFFSIDE! Real Madrid 1-1 Sheriff

Bruno Felipe thinks he's given Sheriff the lead against Real Madrid, but it's been ruled offside.

PSG 1-0 Man City

It's Jack Grealish inside the PSG box. The entire world looks to him to rescue Man City from their misery, but he fails to find an opening within the masses of bodies that make up the PSG defence and ends up falling instead. Oh well.

GOAL!!! Real Madrid 1-1 Sheriff

Just kidding – VAR has decided to award Real Madrid the penalty, and Karim Benzema steps up to the plate and scores! The Frenchman equalises for Real Madrid to give his side an important goal – it's 1-1!

No penalty! Real Madrid 0-1 Sheriff

After a VAR review, the decision is kept to not award Real Madrid a penalty after Vinicius Jr was seemingly tripped just inside the box. A big 30 minutes remains here at the Bernabeu. Can Sheriff hold their lead and take all three points?

GOAL!!!!! Porto 0-3 Liverpool

AND HE'S DONE IT AGAIN!!!! Mohamed Salah slots in Liverpool's third goal against Porto (and his second of the evening) to put the Reds firmly in control at the top of Group B.

Real Madrid 0-1 Sheriff

Uh-oh! Vinicius Jr is claiming for a penalty as he takes a fall inside the box. VAR is being consulted. Here we go!

PSG 1-0 Man City

This time it's Kevin De Bruyne (whose presence on the pitch should be questioned, really) with a shot, but Donnarumma is just too large for him.

Real Madrid 0-1 Sheriff

Eden Hazard has a shot, but it's blocked by a fine save from the Sheriff goalkeeper. It's a bit better from Los Blancos since the start of the second half. If they can equalise early on, they could find a winner in this must-win game.

Sheriff have been a bag of surprises, though!

And we're at half-time!

Phew. What a 45 minutes.

Scores so far: PSG 1-0 Man City, RB Leipzig 1-2 Club Brugge, AC Milan 1-0 Atletico Madrid, Porto 0-1 Liverpool, Dortmund 1-0 Sporting, Real Madrid 0-1 Sheffield

GOAL!!! Porto 0-2 Liverpool

What a first half for Liverpool! A wonderful cross by James Milner lands at the feet of Sadio Mane, who wastes no time slotting it in from about two inches away. Two absolutely stunning goals for the Reds this evening, eh? 😉

GOAL! RB Leipzig 1-2 Club Brugge

What is going on with RB Leipzig?! Club Brugge have just taken the lead after a tight first half that included two goals that were just onside. It won't be good for RB Leipzig, who started the game well by scoring first. But they'll be heading into half-time on the losing side.

PSG 1-0 Man City

Oh dear. Kevin De Bruyne goes in on a two-footed tackle against goalscorer Idrissa Gana Gueye, who now needs treatment. The fact that it's just a yellow card is a little questionable – there are loud jeers coming from the PSG fans who felt the Belgian should've been handed a red instead. Was a yellow the right decision?

GOAL! Dortmund 1-0 Sporting

FINALLY! Malen gets his goal for Dortmund to put the German side 1-0 ahead of Sporting CP! If there was ever a time...

It's his first for Dortmund, scored after 10 games.

Real Madrid 0-1 Sheriff

SO CLOSE! Sheriff nearly get a second at the Bernabeu after a horrifically poor clearance by Courtois, but the final shot is just wide of the post. Real Madrid are looking nervous here.

RED CARD! AC Milan 1-0 Atletico Madrid

Uh-oh!!! Just shortly after Milan take the lead, Kessie receives a second yellow card after a challenge on Llorente (yet again) and now has to leave the pitch after just 30 minutes.

This might be the spark that Atletico Madrid need to reclaim their group in Group B.

PSG 1-0 Man City

How have they not scored?! De Bruyne and Sterling were in the PSG box and them not scoring seemed to have defied all physics (and logic). It should be 1-1 by now at the Parc des Princes.

Are PSG frontrunners for European glory? 🏆

GOAL!!! Real Madrid 0-1 Sheriff

WOULD YOU BELIEVE IT! Sheriff have scored away at the Bernabeu against Real Madrid, with Los Blancos left shocked and stunned. It was a great goal, not a fluke or a mistake that led to it. Yakhshibaev's strike was clean and controlled, and you have to wonder about what David Alaba was doing there.

They need a response now, can they call on the freshly rejuvenated Karim Benzema to do the trick?

GOAL! RB Leipzig 1-1 Club Brugge

This game has been wild – Club Brugge have now scored themselves following a tight offside call, just like RB Leipzig. There was a delayed celebration as VAR confirmed everything, but it's now level in Germany!

GOAL! AC Milan 1-0 Atletico Madrid

It's Leao who slots in from a perfect angle, scoring his third goal of the season to put AC Milan in front. Atletico Madird are in trouble in Group B now, and need to get a result today if they want to increase their chances of progressing to the knockouts safely.

GOAL! Porto 0-1 Liverpool

Who else? It's Mohamed Salah who gives Liverpool the lead over Porto, after a Curtis Jones effort is blocked – with the Egyptian slotting in the rebound. Salah has been in fine form recently, and was in the right place at the right time. It's his magic foot, however, that ensures the goal was scored.

GOAL! PSG 1-0 Man City

BOOM!!!! Gueye puts PSG ahead of Man City. In a team full of Mbappe, Messi and Neymar... it's Gueye who finds the back of the net!

GOAL! RB Leipzig 1-0 Club Brugge

Christopher Nkunku has scored to give RB Leipzig the lead! It was initially ruled offside, but the goal's been given! A lively opening 10 minutes across Europe so far.

Guardiola: 'The players are too excited!'

Pep Guardiola to BT Sport: "What a pleasure to be here.

"I thought about making more changes but this kind of game, the players won't be tired because they're so excited. The trip was comfortable, the hotel is magnificent, the city is so nice. No complaints. We have got five days until the game in Anfield.

"They [PSG's stars] are too good to control all the game. We have an idea with a game we want to do and we'll try."

Klopp on Alexander-Arnold: 'It does not look great for the Man City game'

Jurgen Klopp told reporters about defender Trent Alexander-Arnold being absent for tonight's game against Porto: "Unfortunately shortly after training he went in early and we did a further assessment. "He is out for today for sure and it does not look great for the Manchester City game as well.

"He thought it was tight but it is a little bit more than that. "It’s always a question of fresh legs or rhythm we decided this time for rhythm. Normally you have to rotate but in this situation we don’t have to the boys can go again."

It's time for a new era... 🐐

How fitting that Lionel Messi has been paired against Pep Guardiola's Manchester City, eh? Football's the best of the unscripted.
