Asante Kotoko midfielder Jackson Owusu has joined Kuwaiti side Al Tadhamon on a season-long loan, both clubs have confirmed.
The 26-year-old, who has one-and-half-a-year left on his contract with the Porcupine Warriors, submitted a transfer request last month amid the indefinite suspension imposed by government on football activities in the country.
The request was initially rejected by Kotoko, who later sanctioned the move.
“I'm excited because at least, I can play football again after almost two months due to the issues back home," Owusu told Goal.
“I believe this is an excellent opportunity for me to prove myself outside Ghana, so I'm serious with my training and diet.
“I'm grateful to Asante Kotoko and the supporters for their role throughout my stay there. I will not forget how they stood behind me at all times,” he added.
Owusu made 11 appearances in the first round of the local top-flight without a goal.
