Keeper John Oyemba named in Kariobangi Sharks squad for Caf Confederation Cup

Goalkeeper John Oyemba has made a timely return to Kariobangi Sharks squad for the Caf assignment.

Oyemba, who resumed training last week after several months out with injury, is among the players named in Sharks squad ahead of their first appearance in continental scene. The Sharks won the FKF Shield Cup after beating Sofapaka 3-2 and will now represent Kenya in Caf Confederation Cup.

Young keeper Brian Bwire has also been included in the squad released by coach William Muluya as well as new signing Thomas Teka and Alvin Mang’eni. The draw for both Caf Champions League and Confederation Cup will be held on Saturday in Morocco.

Kenyan champions Gor Mahia will represent Kenya in the Caf Champions League.

Full squad: Goalkeepers: John Oyemba, Gad Matthews and Brian Bwire.

Defenders: Thomas Teka, Michael Bodo, Bolton Omwenga, Eric Juma, Geoffrey Shiveka, Nixon Omondi, John Kuol and John Otieno.

Midfielders: Patillah Omoto, Vincent Wasambo, Harrison Mwendwa, Duke Abuya, Fidel Origa, Moses Mwangi, Sven Yidah, James Mazembe and Alvin Mang’eni.

Strikers: George Abege, Eric Kapaito, Sydney Lokale and Henry Juma.
