The Chanji Boys’ midfielder has called out the Promise Keepers ahead of their weekend league tie in Uyo.

Katsina United’s Tasiu Lawal has disclosed that Akwa United must prove to them that they are among the best clubs in the topflight if they want to get a result in their weekend league tie slated for the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.

The Chanji Boys detonated El Kanemi Warriors 3-0 in their last league tie and Lawal hinted that they are fired up to tackle the Promise Keepers on Sunday with a view to picking at least a point off them just like they did to them when they visited Katsina earlier in the season.

“We are coming for Akwa United this weekend. They claim they are the best club in Nigeria and they must prove it against us. We were happy to beat El Kanemi the way we did and we are now visiting Uyo with the conviction that we can get at least a point there too. They got a draw in Katsina and I believe nothing can stop us from getting similar result there too,” Lawal told Goal.

“Akwa United are a good side but we also have players that can deliver also. We are going to adopt almost similar strategy we used with utmost success against El Kanemi against them too.”

Katsina United are 13th on the log with 32 points from 24 games.
