Karela United coach Johnson Smith is worried by the rescheduling of the last three rounds of matches of the Ghana Premier League first round.
On Tuesday, the Football Association announced the postponement of matchdays 13, 14 and 15 in order to clear outstanding games and to facilitate the release of players to the national U-20 team ahead of their Afcon qualifying double header with Algeria.
The last three rounds of matches have now been set for May 23/24, May 30/31 and June 2/3.
“For me the league should have continued,” Smith said, as reported by Nhyra FM.
"When the league is in progress, the players get to improve every day.
"However, when there is a break, the players' attitude changes and their attitude towards training is always different.
"Everyone needs a break but sometimes it is not the best.”
Smith is among three men shortlisted for the Premier League Coach of the Month of April.
His Karela outfit, one of three newly-promoted sides, are among the top performers of the season so far.
The debutants currently sit fifth on the table, having won five, drawn three and lost four of 12 games played.
