Kano Pillars’ Gambo Mohammed has asserted that he and his teammates will strive to justify the confidence reposed in them when they trade tackles with Enugu Rangers in the final of the Federation Cup on Wednesday in Asaba.
Sai Masu Gida qualified for their first Federation Cup final appearance since 1991 when they were beaten 3-2 by El Kanemi Warriors and Mohammed has disclosed that they are eager to win the competition for their sports-loving Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje.
Kano State government through the management released the team’s outstanding match bonuses totalling seven million naira and Mohammed who is the skipper of Sai Masu Gida stated that the payment of their match bonuses is a welcome development and they will try their best to ensure that they deliver the Federation Cup title this term.
“We are all happy with this development because we have been waiting for it for quite some time and it has come us at the right time,” Mohammed told Goal.
“We will go into the final game with confidence that we do not want to disappoint the Kano State Government for the effort they are making to ensure that Kano Pillars players and officials are comfortable. We are going to give all we have to ensure that we present our Governor the cup.”
