Kaizer Chiefs provide update on Itumeleng Khune's injury

Khune collided with Kurt Lentjies in the 90th minute, and he was stretchered off the pitch and rushed to hospital

Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Ituemeleng Khune will undergo a scan to determine the extent of the injury he sustain against Chippa United on Sunday afternoon. 

According to the club, Khune has a knock above his eye, and it is swollen. 

The 30-year-old was rushed to hospital soon after leaving the pitch at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in the closing stages of the game. 

Khune's injury comes at a time when the South African national team, Bafana Bafana, need him the most. 

Stuart Baxter's will be monitoring Khune's situation with keen interest, as he begins to prepare for back-to-back matches against Senegal in the 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifying campaign. 

Chiefs will hope to have their number one goalkeeper back before their Telkom Knockout Cup semi-final clash against Bidvest Wits on the weekend of November 18 and 19.
