Kaizer Chiefs attacker Lebogang Manyama survives car accident

The full details of Manyama's reported accident are still unknown, but the player will hope to return to action as soon as possible

Kaizer Chiefs attacker Lebogang Manyama is counting his blessings after reportedly surviving a terrifying car accident on Tuesday afternoon. 

The 28-year-old was reportedly coming from training when his car collided with another car on N1 near Fourways in Johannesburg. 

According to reports, Manyama sustained minor injuries and he is recovering well. 

The accident comes at a time when Manyama is still trying to find his feet at the Naturena-based side. 

Manyama returned from Turkey at the end of last season to try and resurrect his career on home soil.

He produced a man of the match performance as Chiefs beat Bloemfontein Celtic 2-0 in the Macufe Cup this past weekend. 

It is unclear at this stage if Manyama will feature for the Glamour Boys when they take on Black Leopards in the Telkom Knockout Cup Last 16 this coming weekend. 

However, the former Cape Town City skipper will hope to recover on time for the Soweto Derby match against Orlando Pirates on October 27.

Kaizer Chiefs attacking midfielder Lebogang Manyama was involved in a car accident on Tuesday afternoon. The player was driving home from training when the incident took place.

He was rushed to hospital for examinations and x-rays. Doctors treated him for minor injuries to his knee and elbow and he has since been discharged.

Manyama will be assessed further by the doctors to determine the extent of the injuries and advise when he will be fit to train again.
