Juventus and AC Milan are preparing a move for Malmo sensation Mattias Svanberg, regarded by some in Sweden as the country's most promising talent since Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Both Juve and Milan are keen to sign the 18-year-old for their Primavera youth team, Goal understands.

However, Malmo are reluctant to lose the midfielder as they prepare for the Champions League qualifying phase.

Sweden Under-19 international Svanberg, valued in the region of €5-10 million, is also reluctant to move unless he is guaranteed regular senior first-team football.

The starlet is a tall, elegant central midfielder with exceptional vision, technique and an eye for goal.

Svanberg made his debut at 16 for Malmo - the club where Ibrahimovic first made his name - and his contract runs until December 2019.

AC Milan have been very active on the transfer market this summer, spending over €100 million already on a host of young stars such as Andre Silva and Franck Kessie. They are expected to sign Atalanta's highly rated right back Andrea Conti next week as well as Hakan Calhanoglu from Bayer Leverkusen.

Juventus, meanwhile, are under pressure to make a splash having released Dani Alves and with Alex Sandro expected to join Chelsea.
