Bucs supporters have casted their votes with their team set to face Amakhosi on Saturday

Orlando Pirates coach Kjell Jonevret expected the supporters to select fringe players and a few youngsters for their Carling Black Label Cup clash with Kaizer Chiefs at the FNB Stadium.

“I’m a little bit surprised over the votes. I thought they would select one or two players that didn’t play so much last season, like a few youngsters. So, both teams are going to play pretty much with the same teams,” Jonevret told PowerFM Sport.

The Swede tactician assured he won’t field the same team when the 2017/18 season starts.

“I’m pretty sure when the league starts, it’s not going to be the same team. I’m thinking of making some changes to the team and the type of football we will play when we start the league,” he said.

“I want to see how this Pirates team performs after what happened last season and hopefully they will do well and give the supporters some hope because it’s important for them to see that we mean business this year,” Jonevret added.

Reports have indicated that Saturday’s clash will be Jonevret's last match in charge of Bucs, with Serbian-born Milutin Sredojevic lined up to succeed him next week.

“We have a good technical team right now. We have decided we can’t put our energy on things we can’t control. We try to do the best that we can do," he stressed.

“So I cannot decide my future. I don’t care too much. I have been in this business for too long, but the day I quit. It will be on my own accord,” Jonevret concluded.
