Sofapaka coach John Baraza has rued defensive and concentration lapses as the main reason why his side lost the Shield Cup final.
The two-time Shield champions failed to down the hungry Sharks, and went on to lose the match 3-2. Kevin Kimani had a chance to make things even with five minutes to go from the penalty spot, but he directed his effort over the bar.
The tactician has conceded the team had many issues that cost the team. ‘We made silly, silly mistakes that cost us especially in defense. We gave them easy goals and did not fight back as we usually do. All the goals we conceded happened through defensive mistakes.
“The many chances we created but did not utilize them also came back to haunt us, it is a bitter lesson for the team.”
Sofapaka could have bagged a total of Sh4m if it they had won the game.
