Johor Darul Ta’zim won again and only need one more win to secure their fifth straight title and they have a chance to do it at second-placed Perak.

JDT moved within one game of retaining the Super League title after a comprehensive 0-4 win over Melaka United at Hang Jebat Stadium. The win keeps the reigning champions 13 points ahead of Perak with only five matches to play.

Fernando Elizari created two goals, one each for Fernando Marquez and Safawi Rasid respectively. The creative Argentine has been keeping Ignacio Insa out the side continued to shine with a goal of his own in the second half.

Nazmi Fariz wrapped up proceedings late on as Melaka srptruggled without the presence of Khairul Fahmi Che Mat in goal.

Over in Ipoh, Perak at least did their part in delaying JDT’s coronation by another round when they edged out Kelantan1-0.

The Bos Gaurus dominated large parts of the game but were let down by a combination of good goalkeeping and wayward finishing.

The goal eventually came in the second half when Gilmar Filho was brought down in the box and Leandro dos Santos easily converted the ensuing penalty kick.

Kedah continued their good form in recent weeks as they handed PKNS FC a 2-0 defeat in a match played at Darul Aman Stadium.

Both goals came in the first half through similar patterns with Liridon Krasniqi providing the diagonal passes that eventually opened up opportunities for Paulo Rangel and Andik Vermansah to score.

Meanwhile in Kuantan at Darul Makmur Stadium, Pahang we’re held to a 1-1 draw by Selangor, a result which sees them drop from 3rd to 4th in the table.

Wan Zaharulnizam struck just minutes into the second half to put Pahang in the lead but The Red Giants roared back through top scorer Rufino Segovia in the 62nd minute.

The draw means that Selangor are in danger of dropping down the table should Kuala Lumpur be able to beat PKNP FC on Wednesday.
