“I believe I have not achieved much to be in the running. I may have done well at a smaller club, that’s it. I have won only one trophy,” Larsen told Goal.
“I think there are local coaches, who have been more successful than me. So there’s no way I can see myself being on the shortlist for the job,” he said.
Larsen burst into the role of the head coach at Bloemfontein Celtic after Owen Da Gama’s sudden departure before the start of the 2010/11 season.
The 45-year-old guided Siwelele to a respectable finishes in both of his two stints at the club, as they always occupied positions in the top six.
“I am one of the youngest coaches. It’s my eighth season in the PSL. Other coaches have been around a lot longer, but like I said I think the likes of your Pitso Mosimane and Gavin Hunt are right there at the top,” he added.
“They are consistently winning trophies and have much more experience. So like I said, it’s very premature for my name to be even mentioned,” Larsen concluded.
