Ifeanyi Matthew on target in Lillestrom thrashing of Aalesund

The former youth international was on the scoresheet as the Canaries brushed aside Trond Fredriksen's men in a Norwegian topflight game on Monday

Ifeanyi Matthew was on target for Lillestrom in their 4-0 thrashing of Aalesund in a Norwegian top-flight encounter at the Aråsen Stadion on Monday.

Frode Kippe had opened the scoring for the home team in the 24th minute having been set up by Shikoze Udoji to put the Canaries in the driving seat.

Erik Brenden doubled the hosts lead in the 67th minute and 10 minutes later, Matthew made it three before Erling Knudtzon completed the riot seven minute to full time.

The 20-year-old has now scored three goals in 27 appearances with compatriots Chinedu Ezeh, Marco Tagbajumi featured but Moses Ebiye was undressed for the encounter.

The victory lifts Arne Erlandsen's side to 10th in the Eliteserien table with 34 points from 27 games and they will travel to Bergen face Brann at Brann Stadion on November 5.
