Champions Uganda hosts Kenya, Burundi and surprise package Zanzibar will battle it out for a place in the final 2017 final

Two wins and two draws was all Paul Put's Harambee Stars’ needed to progress to the semi-finals of the 2017 Cecafa Senior Challenge competition.

It is the first test for the Belgian coach, and he has already proven a point; four matches, three goals, four clean sheets and a last four berth has definitely given the fans some hope. Former Harambee Stars head coach Jacob ‘Ghost’ Mulee expects a difficult outing against The Swallows.

“It is definitely going to be a tough match, Burundi have been playing well in this competition and were a hard nut to crack. Their qualification to the semis proves a lot about their quality. But again, Kenya has done fairly well, though there is still lack of cohesion in the team, a factor that is understandable.

“Well, with qualification to the last four, and having players like Ovella Ochieng and Vincent Oburu, who can give you something when needed, might help the team. And with the team qualifying to the semis, fans will definitely turn out in large numbers and cheer the team all the way to the final,” ‘Ghost’ told Goal.

The semi-final matches will be played at Moi Stadium, Kisumu with Uganda also taking on Zanzibar.
