The Kenyan Premier League leaders defeated Jang'ombe, Nakuru All Stars and bitter rivals AFC Leopards to win the competition. A source privy to happenings at K'ogalo has intimated to Goal the amount the players received. "There was an agreement between the players and the club, the prize money was to be shared 50/50 meaning the club took Sh1.5 million and the rest remained for players to share.
"That means every player got Sh55, 000 or so."
AFC Leopards went home with Sh1million; unfortunately, players have not been awarded a single penny to appreciate their efforts. "We have not seen a shilling out of the one million received. No word, no nothing," a senior player told Goal, "It is not fair that we are not being appreciated for our efforts in Dar. The seemingly 'small' things like this end up demoralizing us."
Efforts to reach Ingwe officials for comment bore no fruits as the calls went unanswered .
