Gor Mahia defender Karim Nizigiyimana might not be involved in any football activities for his team until the end of the season, Goal has learnt.
The defender was injured late last year against Thika United in the Kenyan Premier League, and early reports had indicated that he resume action last February.
However, that has not been the case and when Goal dug deep into the matter, club's official Ronald Ngala said things are thick for the right-back.
"It seems he (Karim) will not be part of us for the entire season following the doctor's advice.
"We had anticipated his return early this year, but there was a setback. We have been advised to give him more time since this is a tendon tear and it takes time to heal completely.
"We miss him on the pitch, but we have no option but heed to the advice given."
Gor Mahia are currently defending the Kenyan Premier League crown, and it is in the Group stages of Caf Confederation Cup.
There is also the FKF Shield as well as the Top 8 tournament -that has not yet been confirmed.
