Indonesian football team have had a fantastic start to their campaign in the 2018 Asian Games as they emerged through the group stages to enter the knockout stages. Though they lost out narrowly to UAE in the knockout stages, their performances in the group stage were noteworthy.
They sealed the group stage progression with a 3-1 win over Hong Kong, with Stefano Lilipaly playing a starring role.
The 28-year-old attacking midfielder scored a goal and also laid on an assist for his teammates.
If Indonesia had not won the game, they would have had to scrape through as one of the best third-placed teams. But it was not required, thanks to Lilipaly.
He showed brilliant movement to fox a defender and score in the 85th minute, making it 2-1 for his team. Then, in injury time, he laid on a goal for his teammate to seal the result.
Ultimately, his stellar show gave Indonesia a momentous win and he is rightly named as Goal's Asian Player of the Week!
