Kaizer Chiefs have reinforced their defence with the acquisition of Mario Booysen.
The lanky defender joins Amakhosi on a two-year deal with an option to renew for a further year, the club confirmed.
Booysen becomes the club's sixth signing of the current transfer window as Giovanni Solinas looks to put together a team that is capable of challenging for league titles.
The Glamour Boys took to their social media platforms on Wednesday night to unveil Booysen as their player.
Booysen joins Lebogang Manyama, who also put pen to paper on a three-year with Chiefs on Wednesday.
His arrival will come as a welcome addition to the club, especially now because Bloemfontein Celtic are refusing to release Lorenzo Gordinho from his loan deal.
It is unclear at this stage if Amakhosi have given up on securing Gordinho's early release from Phunya Sele Sele.
Speaking to the Amakhosi website after signing on the dotted line, Booysen said: “If you set yourself goals. You aim for the best and Chiefs are just that. It’s been a lifelong aspiration to play for this club as I have always felt that Kaizer Chiefs are far ahead of all other South African clubs. They are true leaders, all others follow.”
The 30-year-old defender promised to do his utmost best whenever he's given a chance to play by the technical team.
“I promise them that when I put my foot on the field, I will always do my utmost best to put a smile on their faces,” he said.
“Everybody can expect me to give 100% commitment to Amakhosi. The club offers me a fresh challenge and I want to add value. I am definitely looking at winning trophies, making the club and supporters proud. I want to make a real contribution to the legacy of this great club,” concluded Booysen.
