On the same day his team took on Sarawak in round 12 of the Super League, Selangor striker Forkey Doe on Tuesday was charged by Malaysian court with the offense of using a cloned car.

The Liberian footballer reportedly pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined RM6,000 (around USD1,5000), according to Harian Metro.

According to the publication's report, the 31-year old forward committed the offense of displaying a false plate number on his BMW 325i on Friday May 5, in Puchong, Selangor.

He was apparently handed the lightest possible sentence under the law, as according to the report those found guilty of the crime could be punished with a maximum five-year prison sentence, a fine or both.

The Red Giants faced the Crocodiles in Kuching without him, and was held to a 1-1 draw.

The club have not issued any statement regarding the verdict and the Liberian's future with them. He is their current joint top-scorer in the league, with five goals.
