FAB-5 Football Challenge enter knockout stage

The five-a-side grassroots tournaments kicked off on Friday, and the boys failed to disappoint

On Friday, the FAB-5 Football Challenge 2018 commenced at the Campos Mini Stadium, Onikan as its group games witnessed top-notch football displays from kids.

19 primary schools, spread across five groups, participated in the grassroots tourney and they have now progressed to the quarter-final stage of the exciting competition, lit with several precocious talents.

Abina Omololu and Living Legend - tied at seven points - were first and second respectively in Group A with St. Paul Anglican, Mainland beating Toydam Nursery & Primary School to Group B's top spot with a point.

Royal Bell, Community Primary School, Ikorodu, Anuoluwapo Alimosho and Islamic Memorial were the other four teams from the remaining three groups to join the aforementioned in the knockout stages which hold on Saturday.

Abina face Toydam, St. Paul Anglican and Living Legend battle for a semi-final spot, Royal Bell takes on Islamic Memorial, with the match between Anuoluwapo Alimosho and Community Primary School wrapping up the last-eight ties.

Winners proceed to the last four, with the final match also to be played on Saturday.
