Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Thandani Ntshumayelo has resurfaced at Baroka FC as he looks for an opportunity to revive his football career.

The nippy midfielder is reportedly on trial at Bakgaga Ba Mphahlele after he stopped training with Bidvest Wits.

Local media reports suggest that the Free State-born midfielder failed to land a contract with the Clever Boys despite having spent a great amount of time training with the Braamfontein after he was cleared to return to football in 2018.

Ntshumayelo was previously found guilty of using cocaine in 2016 and was banned for four years by the South African Institute for Drug-Free Sport (SAIDS), but his ban was later reduced to two years after an appeal last year.

Nonetheless, according to reports by Phakaaathi, Ntshumayelo could now be offered a short term deal with coach Wedson Nyirenda’s men by the end of this week.

Moreover, it was also reported that the former Bafana Bafana midfielder had tried his luck at Highlands Park, but could not impress coach Owen Da Gama and his technical team.

With reports suggesting that Nyirenda is impressed as Baroka look to avoid relegation, ‘Bibo’ could officially return to the pitch after a three-year absence.

Baroka currently sits 13th on the Premier Soccer League (PSL) log table with 21 points and could count on Ntshumayelo’s experience to help them save their top-flight status.
