The Naze Millionaires tactician has praised the important role played by two of the newly signed players against Sai Masu Gida

Heartland chief coach, Ere Dokubo has hailed the role the duo of Okey Nwadike and Ike ThankGod played in their second debuts for the Naze Millionaires last weekend against Kano Pillars.

The Naze Millionaires were held to a 1-1 draw in Owerri by Sai Masu Gida in a league tie but the highlight of the tie was the return home of both players who left the club some seasons back.

The tactician disclosed that both players were exceptional and that they played as if they had joined them since the beginning of the season.

“It was not the kind of result that we expected because at this stage we know that only a home win will be ideal for us,” Dokubo told Goal.

“It was still a good game for us judging by the way the team performed against a formidable side like Kano Pillars. We are not totally sad about the performance with what some of our newly signed players did and the impact they made in the game in only their first match.

“Okey Nwadike and Ike ThankGod gave us something to proud of and that in our subsequent games we don’t have anything to be worried about. They gave their all and we expect the remaining players to follow suit.”

The former Bayelsa United and Akwa United coach informed that Heartland will be going to Akure as guests of Sunshine Stars this weekend with optimism that they can upset their hosts and improve their survival chances.

“We are going to Akure for a win against Sunshine Stars with what we have seen here against Kano Pillars,” he continued.

“The players were brilliant against Pillars and if they lift their game in a similar way in Akure it won’t be difficult getting a favourable result. We are going to face Sunshine Stars with all that we have with the belief that a good result will come our way.”

The four times winner of the league are presently last with 16 points from 20 games.
