Nasarawa United’s Nojeem Olukokun has emphasized that the Solid Miners are not afraid of Enugu Rangers whom they trade tackles with, in the semi-final of the Federation Cup knowing that they are also beatable like others they have met.
Olukokun has scored two important goals for the Solid Miners in the ongoing Federation Cup including the second goal that handed the competition’s defending champions, Akwa United their first loss and the striker stressed that they have their eyes fully focused on knocking the Flying Antelopes out.
He said they are happy with the underdogs' tag as no one has taken them seriously since the competition began and that they are thrilled that they are only two games away from winning a title for their fans and Nasarawa State Governor, Tanko Al-Makura whose support to sports development has been awesome in the state.
The former Kwara United and Shooting Stars attacker said that they arrived Kano in good time and have had a good preparation ahead of the blockbuster fixture.
“It is the game of our lives and we are ready to fight for it,” Olukokun told Goal.
“We do not expect to just stroll into the final of the Federation Cup and it is the reason we have promised ourselves that we are going to give the game all it can take because we know that Rangers are beatable. They (all teams) have not taken us seriously since the competition started and this has helped us not to be nervous.
“We just want to try and win this competition for our fans and our Governor who has been supporting us. We believe it is the right time to win something. Rangers are a tough side but we have beaten opponents that are better than them on paper and we hope to do the same thing to them.”
