Emmanuel Adebayor on target in Istanbul Basaksehir stalemate

The 33-year-old continued his impressive goalscoring run in the Turkish top-flight this season with his 10th effort in 18 appearances

Emmanuel Adebayor found the back of the net as Istanbul Basaksehir were held to a 1-1 draw by Konyaspor in Sunday’s Turkish Super Lig game.

A late minute goal from Konyaspor denied the Basaksehir Fatih Terim Stadium outfit an opportunity to extend their dominance at the summit of the league table.

Adebayor opened the scoring at the Konya Buyuksehir Stadium with his goal in the 36th minute that handed Abdullah Avci’s men a first-half lead.

Nejc Skubic’s 92nd effort earned the hosts a point as they continue their struggles at the drop zone.

New signing Samuel Eto’o who completed a move to Konya in the January transfer window was not listed for the encounter.

Istanbul Basaksehir stay atop of the league log with 43 points from 20 games so far, and they host Fenerbahce for their next league fixture on February 11.
