The Red and Golds have won the last seven Calcutta Football Leagues and now look hungry to extend their streak further.

Kolkata giants East Bengal are going strong in their mission to dismantle Aizawl FC's league winning squad, roping in promising winger Brandon Vanlalremdika for the season ahead. The Red and Golds have already agreed terms with Syrian international Mahmoud al Amna and defender Lalramchullova, both of whom were instrumental in the North-Eastern club's fairy-tale campaign.

Brandon, a winger by trade, hogged the limelight this season, impressing with his pace and trickery. With three goals in eleven starts, he bettered his numbers from last year, when he had made eight starts as the Reds were relegated.

The Kolkata club, who have not won the national league since 2004, have also opened talks with two more Aizawl FC players Zohmingliana Ralte and Laldanmawia, but the deals are expected to be signed only after the officials announce the club's final stance regarding participation in the Indian Super League.

Apart from leading to a mass exodus from Aizawl FC, East Bengal have brought in two players from Churchill Brothers as well - Richard Costa, a midfielder who had played 16 matches this season and Surabuddin Mullick, a regular face of the Kolkata maidan, who has been a journeyman.

On the other hand, Manoranjan Bhattacharya, the former India international, who is now leading the recruitment process at the club, has decided to hand senior team contracts to seven U-18 players who were impressive in the club's journey to the U-18 I-League final only a fortnight back. Central defenders Rahul Ghosh and Mehtab Singh, midfielders Yami Longvah and Prakash Sarkar, winger Khangembam Bidyashagar Singh and strikers Telem Suranjit Singh and Lalcchanhima had all started in the summit clash against AIFF Academy and will now become part of the club's senior squad.

East Bengal have already picked up the 'invitation to bid' (IBD) document for the ISL, and whether they will be playing in the cash-rich league is expected to be confirmed in the next 48 hours.
