Antonio Conte's side take on the Saints for a place in the final, where either Manchester United await

Chelsea will attempt to book their place in the FA Cup final when they face Southampton at Wembley on Sunday.

It is the second meeting between the sides in the space of a week and, after coming out 3-2 winners at St Mary's last Saturday, the Blues will be aiming for a similar result.

Antonio Conte's side overcame Norwich, Newcastle United, Hull and Leicester to reach this stage and they have been forced into extra time twice already, a fate they will be eager to avoid at Wembley.

Southampton, meanwhile, face their biggest test in the competition this season after previously meeting Fulham, Watford, West Brom and Wigan on their way to the semi-final.

Antonio Conte, Chelsea

Chelsea may have a slim chance of finishing in the top four in the Premier League, but they have a better opportunity in the FA Cup, where Southampton stand in their way for a place in the final.

The Blues are currently fifth in the league, five points behind Tottenham with four games left to play, meaning they are on course to miss out on a place in next season's Champions League.

However, the oldest competition in football - and England's most prestigious cup - offers them a shot at redemption and they can put a positive spin on the campaign by lifting the trophy.

"For sure we will try to reach the FA Cup final," Conte told BBC Sport ahead of the game.

"It won't be easy but we must be ready to fight. I saw a fantastic spirit [against Burnley]. We must continue this way."

Having already beaten the Saints last week - albeit only just - they have a mental edge over their opponents, but, as Conte notes, they cannot afford to rest on their laurels on Sunday.
