Goal spoke to one of PSL’s most exciting players at the moment, Manyama who has received a call-up to the senior national team, Bafana Bafana

Cape Town City captain Lebogang Manyama says he is focused on making the most of his national team call-up.

“It’s a privilege to be called up to the national team. It shows that the hard work I am putting in is finally paying off.

“For me, I don’t think about things that are far from me. I have said this before, I take things one step at a time. I take it one game at a time,” Manyama told Goal.

The last time Manyama received a national team call-up was in 2013 and he made two Bafana appearances against Nigeria and Burkina Faso.

The 26-year-old forward is now willing to work hard to make his presence count in the national team.

“I will just focus on my job and the rest will take care of itself. I just have to keep on working hard. So I am not thinking about many things right now,” he said.

“For me, all I am saying right now is, I will go there and try and grab the opportunity with both hands,” Manyama concluded.

Bafana will host Guinea-Bissau and Angola in international friendly matches later this month.

Manyama, who led City to the 2016 Telkom Knockout Cup success, is the joint top goalscorer in the PSL with 11 goals.
