The Ghana international wants West Ham to make it two wins in a row in the topflight

Despite emerging hero of Monday's 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town, West Ham United attacker Andre Ayew refuses to be carried away as the Hammers prepare for Saturday's trip to West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League.

The Ghanaian registered his first goal of the season and set up another, after coming on as a substitute, to hand West Ham a 2-0 triumph at London Stadium.

He promptly set his sights on another three points as the Hammers look to put their poor start to the season behind for good.

“We don’t have to get too excited,” he said, as reported by his club's official website.

“We’ve played at home and we won and now we are going to West Brom and it will be very difficult there, so we have to keep calm, work hard and be patient.

“Three points does not have to change everything. I think we feel relieved to have got the points.

“We know one week is different from another week so now we’re going to smile for maybe 48 hours, but we have to get back to work and prepare really well for Saturday’s game, because we want to get some points at West Brom.

"We’re not over-excited because we know we didn’t start the season well and we know we need to stay on the front foot and try to go and get something at West Brom.”

Having, for the first time this season, lost his place in Slaven Bilic's XI in Monday's fixture, Ayew will hope to regain his spot on Saturday.

He netted six goals to propel the Hammers to an 11th finish last season.
