Ghana international Christian Atsu could mark his return to the English Premier League with a home game against Tottenham Hotspur on August 12.

The winger makes a comeback two years after an unsuccessful half-season loan at Bournemouth, where he failed to make a single league appearance.

Earlier, he played for Everton in the 2014-15 season, making just five topflight outings.

The Ghanaian now has the opportunity to make amends at Newcastle this season, starting with the home fixture at St. James' Park.

He was instrumental as the Magpies booked Premier League Promotion in May, after which he completed a permanent transfer from Chelsea.

Elsewhere, Leicester City's Daniel Amartey will open his campaign with an away tie against Arsenal, while Jeffrey Schlupp's Crystal Palace play at home to new boys Huddersfield.

At Old Trafford, Andre Ayew's West Ham United will play as guests to Manchester United. Ghana target Timothy Fosu-Mensah could be in action for the Red Devils.

Following last season's goal struggle, Jordan Ayew will hope to strike early this campaign, particularly when Swansea City square off against Southampton at St. Mary's Stadium.

It is uncertain whether Baba Rahman will be given a look-in at Chelsea this season, but if he does get the opportunity, he could open his campaign against Burnley, who have youngster Daniel Agyei in their fold.

Newly-promoted Brighton and Hove Albion, who have Elvis Manu in their team, will start topflight football against Manchester City at home. Reports, however, say the Dutch-born could part ways with the new boys before the season takes off.

The Premier League fixtures for the 2017-18 campaign were announced on Wednesday.
