Ashanti Gold have announced the appointment of Frederick Acheampong as the club's new chief executive officer.
Acheampong, who until recently, was working as a television pundit, replaces Kudjoe Fianoo, who left the role in January following a takeover of the club from Anglo Gold Ashanti by business mogul Dr. Kwaku Frimpong.
"Frederick Acheampong has been named as the new person to run the club on management level while the rest of us support from the back," Dr. Frimpong told Oyerepa FM.
"He is aware of the role handed him and the responsibilities that come along with it since this is one of the biggest clubs in the country. He is not new to the club because he has been around even before the season kicked off, so we're optimistic that he will do a decent job.
"We want to push the club up on the ladder and restore the lost glory moments we used to experience in the Caf Champions League," he added.
