Arsenal & City in Alexis talks


Manchester City and Arsenal are negotiating the transfer of Alexis Sanchez, Goal can confirm. 

Arsenal want a fee in the region of £35 million, if they are to agree to the January sale of Alexis to their Premier League rivals.

However, with Alexis out of contract at the end of the season, City are optimistic that they can agree a deal worth around £25m.

Wenger denies Evans bid


Arsene Wenger has denied making a bid to bring West Brom centre-back Jonny Evans to Arsenal.

Former Manchester United defender Evans has been linked with a January move to the Emirates Stadium, with Manchester City also reported to be interested.

However, while Wenger is keen to further improve his squad in the January window, he insists he has not made an approach for Evans.

Man Utd to make bid for Ozil


Manchester United will make a move to sign Mesut Ozil from Arsenal in the January transfer window,  The Mirror   claims.

The Germany international can leave the Gunners for free at the end of the season, but United will offer them a fee to take him off their hands this month.


Gladbach deal Spurs and Arsenal Vestergaard blow


Borussia Monchengladbach have stated that they do not intend to let centre-back Jannick Vestergaard depart this January.

He is wanted by both Arsenal and Tottenham, but manager Max Eberl has declared that the club has no intention of letting him go.

“We don’t intend to let anyone go during the winter,” he said.

Liverpool won't make Lemar move in January


Despite losing Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona, Liverpool not be making a move for Monaco star Thomas Lemar this January, Sky Sports reports.

The big-money departure of Coutinho has left a gaping hole in the Reds' attack, but the report suggests that Lemar will not be filling it, this winter at least.

Indeed, Monaco have already insisted that the France international, who is also thought to be a target for Arsenal, would not be leaving the club in January.


Southampton confirm Walcott interest


Southampton have confirmed that they wish to sign Theo Walcott from Arsenal.

"I have been talking about him," Mauricio Pellegrino told Sky Sports . "He is a good player, but I don't know with the negotiations, with the market, I imagine that this type of player would have a lot of possibility. For us, it's not easy."

Mahrez key to Alexis transfer


Alexis Sanchez will be allowed to leave Arsenal for Manchester City only if Riyad Mahrez is bought for the London club, reports The Mirror .

A failed deal for Thomas Lemar killed the chances of Alexis moving in the summer, and with Liverpool the front-runners for the Monaco man now, Arsene Wenger has turned his attention to the Leicester City star. 

Both Sanchez and Mahrez would welcome moves, with the former keen to join back up with former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola. 


Arsenal set to sign Jonny Evans


Arsenal are close to reaching an agreement with West Bromwich Albion for Jonny Evans, says  The Sun .

Manchester City were also linked with the defender and even made a bid for him in the summer, but it seems the Gunners are now leading the chase for his signature. 


Arsenal eye up Vazquez move


Arsenal want to sign Real Madrid attacker Lucas Vazquez as the replacement for Alexis Sanchez, claims Don Balon .

Alexis is desperate to leave Arsenal in the transfer window and wants to join Manchester City now, rather than wait to complete a free transfer at the end of the season when his contract expires.

A string of names has been mooted to replace the Chilean, with Madrid’s Vazquez now an option for Arsene Wenger, who feels the Spaniard has the qualities to compensate for Alexis’ departure.


Giroud wanted by Besiktas


Besiktas have set their sights on landing Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud as a replacement for Cenk Tosun, reports beIN Sports .

The Turkish side have seen their top marksman leave for Everton and are now in the market for a proven successor.

Giroud has struggled for starts this season and is eager to find regular football ahead of a possible World Cup quest with France this summer.


One of Alexis or Ozil tipped to stay at Arsenal


Former Arsenal defender Gabriel Paulista is expecting either Alexis Sanchez or Mesut Ozil to remain at the club.

Both players are out of contract in the summer and have been heavily linked with exits but Gabriel is confident that at least one of them will commit their future to the club.

'Mavropanos will be an Arsenal success'


Arsenal new boy Konstantinos Mavropanos will be go on to be a first-team Arsenal contender, former player Stathis Tavlaridis told Goal.

"He’s a very good player with a big future ahead of him," Tavlaridis said. "But the most important thing for me is to have a good character and be a humble person if you want to build a long career. Talent is not the only important thing, good character is too.

"Mavropanos has the whole package to have a very successful career. I am sure he will go on to play for the first team because he has the personality and quality to make it."
