AL NASR EDGE SHARJAH

A first half goal from Salem Saleh was enough for Al Nasr to record an important 1-0 home win over Sharjah at Al Maktoum Stadium in round 20 of the Arabian Gulf League.

It was the hosts who made the breakthrough in the 29th minute when Masoud Sulaiman's cross eluded Abdulla Ahmed before finding Al Nasr striker Salem Saleh who applied the finish.

After the restart, the visitors dominated but was denied on numerous occasions by the keeper.

The Blues held tight for the remainder of the 90 minutes and went home empty handed.

GOALFEST AT BANI YAS

Fans at Bani Yas' Al Shamkha Stadium were treated to a fine display of attacking football as Al Wasl finally emerged 4-3 victorious on Friday.

Al Wasl got off to a flyer and within ten minutes, they were ahead as their top goalscorer Fabio de Lima was perfectly positioned to head in a rebound.

Brazilian forward Caio Canedo doubled Al Wasl's lead at the half-hour mark. Two minutes into the second half, Caio Canedo moved one-on-one with the Bani Yas keeper but was brought down inside the box and the referee pointed to the spot. Caio stepped up and scored the spot-kick.

Harry Novillo then pulled one back for Bani Yas in response. However, Caio was on target again, completing his hat-trick in the 55th minute.

Nigerian striker Henty then scored for the hosts, making it 4-2.

Bani Yas came to within one goal from equalising in added time when club captain Mark Miligan converted a penalty-kick.
