Ghanaian and Misr El Maqasa striker John Antwi is elated following his inclusion into Egyptian Premier League Team of the Season by Kingfut following votes from supporters.
The 24-year-old, who joined Maqasa on loan from Al Ahly in January, netted 11 goals, six goals behind teammate Ahmed El Sheikh.
"I'm elated with the news that I've been picked as part of the best players in the season. This is because when I look back at the season, I wasn't getting enough playing time at Al Ahly and had to move," Antwi told Takoradi-based Radio Silver .
"It was only in the second round that I played more matches following my loan deal from Ahly to Maqasa. The move helped me to be part of the team of the season and I am extremely pleased for the recognition given to me," he added.
Antwi has been snubbed by various Ghana coaches during selection for international duties but says he will continue to work hard and wait for his chance.
"I hear some of the comments that I deserve a call-up but the handlers know what is best for the team. I am okay despite the snub and will continue to work hard and keep waiting for an opportunity in the future because I know they are monitoring all Ghanaian players across the globe," he said.
Antwi previously played for Ghanaian second-tier side Dreams FC before joining Ismaily in Egypt in 2013.
