Spanish golfer Sergio Garcia reached a personal landmark on Sunday after seeing off the challenge of Justin Rose in the 2017 Masters to clinch his first ever major.
Remarkably, it was Garcia's 74th attempt and he earned plenty of admirers as he emerged victorious at Augusta, not least from the world of football.
Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos saluted his compatriot's win as "incredible" and well deserved, while former Madrid icon Luis Figo congratulated the 37-year-old personally.
Gareth Bale also posted his response to Garcia's win, writing: "What a #Masters!! Huge congratulations to my friend @TheSergioGarcia. Unbelievable stuff!"
