Hadi Fayyadh Abdul Razak is slowly improving his form, having scored two goals so far for Malaysia in the 2018 AFC U-19 Championship.
He scored the Young Tigers' only goal in their 2-1 Group D defeat to Saudi Arabia, before scoring one of their two goals in their 2-2 draw against Tajikistan.
His two goals have come as a relief to the fans, considering that the last time he had scored for Malaysia U-19 was all the way back in November last year.
Now head coach Bojan Hodak will surely rely on the striker to bring the goods, in their must-win last group match on Friday, against the already-eliminated China.
When asked by Goal about his mental preparations for the match, the 18-year old answered that he is avoiding feeling over-confident.
"The night before a match I will visualise myself scoring, and picture how the opponents would try to stop me.
"But in terms of mentality, I need to strike the balance between over-estimating the opponents, and feeling over-confident. What's most important is that I keep a 100 per cent focus," explained the player, who is currently a free agent.
Commenting on the Friday match itself, Hadi spoke of his chemistry between him and Nik Akif Nik Mat, as both his goals have been scored from assists by the midfielder.
"We have played together (with Malaysia U-19) for almost two years, so undoubtedly we've developed a playing chemistry.
"But the bigger contributor is definitely the chemistry among the whole team. The goals couldn't have happened without everyone's hardwork," he remarked to the press before training on Thursday.
