Australian midfielder Stefan Mauk will be back in the A-League next season, but will be lining up for Brisbane Roar and not Melbourne City.
Mauk was on loan with City last season from Dutch side NEC Nijmegen, but Warren Joyce wasn't interested in securing the midfielder long-term with John Aloisi instead opting to swoop in and sign the 22-year-old on a four-year deal.
Having represented Australia at youth level, Mauk is eager to link up again with Aloisi and take his game to the next level.
"I’m excited to team up with the Roar and John Aloisi who I’ve worked with previously," Mauk said.
"He gave me my first opportunity as a professional footballer and I’m keen to improve my game in Brisbane."

Elsewhere, Sydney FC have secured the services of Brazilian striker Bobo for one more season with the reigning Golden Boot winner convinced to stay on.
The 33-year-old scored 27 goals from 27 games last season and will prove crucial to Steve Corica's first campaign in charge of the Sky Blues.
"Bobo has shown time and again his ability in front of goal," Corica said.
"There is no doubt he is among the greatest strikers to have appeared in the A-League and sits only behind Alex Brosque as Sydney FC’s all-time leading scorer."
