Singida United will now be favorites to sign the midfielder

Yanga have poured cold water on speculations that they are looking to bring in the reportedly free agent, Mudathir Yahaya during when the transfer window opens.

Mudathir whose contract with Azam is nearing its end, spent the current season with Singida United on loan.

On Tuesday, Azam Chief Executive Officer, Idrisa Nassor “Father” confirmed that the contract between the club and Mudathir has reached its end and there are no talks over a new deal.

While Singida United are increasingly confident of securing a deal to keep the player at Namfua Stadium reports have also been circulating of Yanga being ready to sign the player in a two year deal.

Speaking to Goal, Yanga’s recruitment chairperson, Hussein Nyika said that they are not keen to discuss new players at the moment, and they will only be looking into new names after finishing the season.

He further revealed that all officials including the technical bench are only focused on the coming matches.

“I don’t want to speak about any special name but these reports are wrong, we are open to adding to any position if there is an exceptional player that can improve us, but at this time we are very much only concentrating in the coming matches” said Nyika.

This will be a good news for Singida United who will now be favorites to sign the midfielder.
