As he turns heads at the 2018 World Cup, Daniel Arzani must cash in after Russia and play club football in Europe, according to Ljubo Milicevic.

Arzani's rise through the ranks started with Melbourne City this past A-League season with the 19-year-old ultimately earning a Socceroos call-up as a result of some eye-catching performances.

With his immediate future uncertain despite being contracted to City, Arzani should be looking to pursue an immediate opportunity in Europe believes Milicevic.

"As soon as possible go to Europe, do not waste anymore time in Australia," Milicevic told Goal.

"I don't know what opportunities he has and who looks after him, but the sooner you put yourself in Europe, the better you are going to be.

"There is no reason or need for him to play numerous seasons in prove what?

"I remember my good friend Ivan Ergic left after one season and everyone is saying he should've stayed longer... and the next season he's playing Champions League against Juventus and Manchester United.

"There is no time to waste, and if you are good enough, you go. And I believe he is good enough."

Milicevic himself burst onto the scene as a teenager in the NSL, scoring in the 2000 grand final for Perth Glory and moving to FC Zurich in Switzerland not long after as a 20-year-old.

Having incidentally lined up against Arzani in 2017, Milicevic has seen his skill up close and is adamant he has the ability to transition to Europe.

"I remember playing against him last year in the NPL when we played against Melbourne City and it was obvious straight away that this kid stood out," he said.
