All you need to know about the 2018 Nedbank Cup final between Free State Stars and Maritzburg United

Free State Stars will be the home side in the Nedbank Cup final against Maritzburg United this weekend.

The Bethlehem-based outfit last played in a cup final in 1999 when they lost to Mamelodi Sundowns in the Rothmans Cup, while this will be the Team of Choice's first cup final appearance in the top flight.

The encounter will see several players come up against their former employers.

Nhlanhla Vilakazi once played for United, while Andrea Fileccia, who was previously on the books of Free State Stars, will be on the opposite side.

This is also a chance for Fadlu Davids to raise his coaching profile even further having already done enough to win the hearts of the majority of South African football fans in his first full season in charge of the KwaZulu Natal club.

Luc Eymael will also be looking to silence his doubters by a winning his first PSL trophy since arriving in the country two years ago, and possibly increase his chances of moving to a big club in the league come next season.
