Here's how we rated Simba’s players after their encounter

Simba are out of CAF Confederation Cup after playing a goalless draw with Al Masry in Port Said, Egypt. In the first leg which was held in Dares Salaam the results were 2-2.

Here's how we rated Simba’s players after their encounter.

Aishi Manula

Tanzania One, made a good save early on the match to deny Ahmed Gomaa and then made a top class double save to open the second half, getting off the floor to save Aristide Bance close range header. 7

Nicholas Gyan

The Ghanaian forward was deployed as right wing-back, surely he did his job down the right. Nothing spectacular but Al Masry struggled to get down his side. 6

Yusuph Mlipili

Following his shambolic display in the first leg, the young defender was deployed at the heart of a back three and it seemed to have worked out on how to deal with Ahmed Gomaa after that National Stadium encounter earlier in the month. He made some crucial blocks and was replaced in the second half when Simba’s coach decided to change formation. 6

Juuko Murshid

The Ugandan defender marshaled the back line. Always looked in control and kept his cool. He dealt well with the height of Aristide Bance. 7

Asante Kwasi

The usual battling display from the Ghanaian at the left wing-back. He didn't do as much from an offensive point of view but he didn't need to. 5

Erasto Nyoni

A senior defender in Simba squad surely he had a busy 90 minutes in the middle of the park. He was booked in the second half after he brought down Aristide Bance. 6

Shomari Kapombe

Showed his importance to Simba in the transitions, trying to switch defense to attack. He played his part with Jonas Mkude in breaking up Al Masry’s advances. 6

Jonas Mkude

Looked aggressive from the start and he fed the strikers in several occasions. In the second half he whipped a ball across the six yard box but Laudit Mavugo just couldn't quite get a toe to it. 7

James Kotei

He was terrific with the ball and rarely wasted possession. He, alongside Mkude and Kapombe bossed the game for Simba in the middle to minimize Al Masry’s threats. He was replaced by Shiza Kichuya after 70 minutes to pave way for more attacking football. 6

Emmanuel Okwi

Engineered a good late chance for himself with a dribble into the Al Masry box but his low shot wasn't strong enough. The Ugandan always looked to run at the Masry defense but he was under tight security.

John Bocco

He was quite throughout the game but almost got through late in the second half but couldn't get the finishing touch on Okwi chipped pass. 4

Laudit Mavugo

Should have done better when Okwi knocked the ball across the six-yard for him and also couldn't force the ball home from a scramble after an Kwasi throw ball in the lask kick of the game. 5

Shiza Kichuya

Came in the last 20 minutes to try to turn the game in their favor but he did not have the time to do so. 5
