The Owena Whales’ sharpshooter is confident that the Akure based outfit will not be demoted to the lower cadre at the end of the season

Franklin Sasere has disclosed that there is no talk of relegation in Sunshine Stars’ camp.

The Owena Whales lie 18th with 28 points and owing to their position on the log, they are one of the candidates for relegation.

Sunshine Stars silenced Nasarawa United 2-0 in their last game and the striker revealed that his team is looking to move up in the elite division rather than bother about their unwarranted position.

“The league is still on and there are several matches remaining, so there is nothing to be scared of,” Sasere told Goal.

“We get better at every passing game and our coach, Henry Abiodun has sounded it clear that we must keep up the momentum.

“Many have written us off, but we as a team are not thinking about getting demoted – don’t be surprised we will finish the league well and even earn a place on the continent.

“When the league resumes, we will get ourselves out of this mess and we will ensure we do not let our darling fans down.”
