Sofapaka coach Sam Ssimbwa has termed the win against Gor Mahia as a huge boost to their title ambitions.

Goal from Ezekiel Okore and Timothy Luda handed K'Ogalo their third defeat of the league campaign and first for caretaker coach Zedekiak 'Zico' Otieno. Otieno was handling the former champions for the first time following the resignation of Brazilain Ze Maria last week.

'Zico': It is normal to lose in a football match

Ssimbwa has now insisted that the win was very important for Batoto ba Mungu, who are not giving up on challenging for the title this season. "It was a very iimportant win for us. Very important because we beat the table toppers at a time every person was looking down upon us. It is a win that could have a say in the title race and that is why I want to thank my players for a job well done"

On his part, 'Zico', says says the 2-0 defeat should not be blown out of proportion because his side will bounce back. "This is football and defeats do come, there is nothing special with Gor Mahia losing, it happens. It is a wake up call for us to work harder and win our next match.
