Socceroos Watch: Awer Mabil's stunning performance for Midtjylland

The Socceroos attacker had a night to remember in Denmark

In his final club match before linking up with Socceroos, Awer Mabil put in a remarkable performance for Midtjylland as he scored twice and picked up two assists in a 5-0 win over Vejle BK.

The Australian attacker opened the scoring in the 21st minute as his powerful first-time effort found the back of the net despite the keeper getting a hand to it.

With his side 2-0 up at half-time, Mabil would turn provider in the 51st minute as he teed up Evander, whose rather tame shot somehow squirmed past Vejle's keeper.

Not done with scoring himself, the Socceroo would seal his second strike less than 15 minutes later as he guided the ball between the keeper's legs after being fed through on goal.

The 23-year-old then wrapped up his stunning performance with another assist in the 71st minute as he calmly controlled the ball at the top of the box before laying the ball on a plate for Jakob Poulsen to fire home from distance.

Midtjylland now sit top of of the Danish Superliga with Kobenhavn boasting the same points but with an inferior goal difference.
