Meddie Kagere will don jersey number 14 at his new club, Simba SC.
The former Gor Mahia striker, who signed for the Tanzanian champions, was officially unveiled after signing a two-year deal.
The Rwandan international used to put on jersey number 22 at Gor Mahia.
Gor Mahia now have turned their attention on Burundian Francis Mustapha.
Mustapha, who is seen as a perfect replacement for Kagere, landed in the country on Wednesday for negotiation with K’Ogalo hierarchy for a possible transfer deal.
The Burundian had expressed his willingness to sign for the Kenyan champions and the deal is expected to materialize.
“I watched them play Rayon Sports (in the Caf Confederation Cup in Kigali) and said to myself 'this is the team I want to play for'. Even in Bujumbura, everybody knows about Gor Mahia. Under their current coach, they are playing very sexy football which suits me.
“When Gor Mahia officials reached out to me earlier this month, I was excited, but at that time the league was in a crucial stage and I couldn't get time to come to Nairobi to finalize the move. Now I am ready because we play our final league match of the season on Wednesday.”
Mustapha has been a joy to watch in the Rwandan league this term. Under the guidance of Coach Casa Mbungo, the lanky star has thrived for cash-strapped Kiyovu while playing just behind a target man.
